However, Ableton Link is still a work in progress, and the timing tends to drift in tempo sync mode, so we recommend the old-school method of sending a virtual MIDI clock from TRAKTOR to MASCHINE. With Ableton Link, you can synchronize MASCHINE to TRAKTOR with one push of a button in each program. Obviously, if you want to actually do this during a set, then you’ll want to synchronise playback timing of the two applications. One of the beauties of the MASCHINE hardware is that it can be used to control both the MASCHINE and TRAKTOR software simultaneously. This tutorial refers to the MASCHINE MK3 hardware throughout, as that’s the device we are using, but the same techniques are applicable to all MASCHINE models. In this in-depth tutorial, you’ll learn how to do all of this and more, creating a custom TRAKTOR mapping for MASCHINE from scratch. And how about mapping MASCHINE’s multicolored pads to show which TRAKTOR features are active at a glance? Use Modifiers and Pages to create layers of controls, massively multiplying what your MASCHINE setup is capable of. You can map multiple features to one control to turbocharge your on-stage workflow and creativity. Almost any feature in TRAKTOR can be mapped, meaning that it can be controlled with MASCHINE’s pads and buttons. With the MK3 model featuring 16 RGB-backlit pads, 8 knobs with visual readout, a tactile encoder, buttons aplenty, and multiple pages of controls, there’s enough mappability here to handle all the Hotcues you can throw it at – and then some.īut back to that mapping functionality. Now that rant is over, can you or anyone else point to a place where there might be templates that the majority of users of Maschines latest mk2 can use? Thanks again.Ever wanted to go beyond the tried-and-true “decks and mixers” control paradigm? Through the magic of mapping, anything with a MIDI output can become your new TRAKTOR controller, and there are few better blank canvases for this than MASCHINE. Has this not been addressed or is this just an issue Im seeing on my end? Is this the reason why NI decided not to include these templates, because of the lag created in Maschine when using them? Pure speculation and just asking, and trying to come up with a valid reason for the obvious lack of missing templates. Running an i5, 16 gigs of ram and Win-7 with everything updated as needed. This was talked about in posts back in 2009. Might as well have included something for MS Office as it would be about as beneficial (for me).Īnd about the midi mode versus Maschine mode lag thing in creating templates and running the above mentioned software. Isn't that a bit strange to you too? What were they thinking? Sure there are Ableton Traktor and Mackie users, but I would wager there are many more drum software users in combination. So Its a bit upsetting and strange to me why a company like NI that made a wonderful drumming tool like the Maschine mk2, and then would only include Ableton, Traktor, and Mackie templates in it, with no other drumming software templates added?. Ni Maschine Templates for these products (for those like me that may not know until recently) allow you to use Maschine to play the drums in the software above, and without them you cant. Not blaming you Sowari, but why just those few? What I do have (like millions of other drum software users) is Toontrack EZ and SDX, Fxpansion BFD and Slate Drums with others and percussion software. Yes I saw those in the pull down, but I have NONE of these products. Sowari, what am I supposed to do with the Ableton, Traktor And Mackie templates? Vaiman, The Mk2 doesnt Like Mk1 templates Im told, but ty anyway.
